European Jazz

Christoph Lehner Quintet is a Munich-based vocal jazz group deeply steeped in the mainstream tradition of jazz.

The group combines the manifold musical language of Afro-American jazz with the European tradition of musical storytelling present in French chanson or Italian canzone. Scat singing, improvisation and songwriting blend into the group’s highly inventive version of storytelling jazz.

It features original compositions by the bandleader presented in three different languages by the Italian singer Alice Viola. On stage the quintet radiates a high amount of vitality and delight in playing.
